Securb Wrote:Look at the comment about Vick and The Eagles on the CBS Power Rankings and yes they have The Dolphins finally in the right spot.

It could do either way, Vick could end up being the same old Vick and they are back to square one at the QB position, or Vick could actually be the pocket passer with a rocket arm like we saw so far this year... in which Reid would get credit for turning him into a real QB.

I'm obsessed with this situation now so I am reading and listening to everything I can on it and the opinion in that article is in the minority. Nationally the critics were saying Vick was a no-brainer decision. Also, in interviews from Vick's previous coaches, they are saying he is night and day a different player in terms of ability and work ethic and they say the results could be scary if it stays that way.

Hey, I wrote the season off as a borefest and we're only 2 games in and I am getting a kick out of this drama and outrage. Reality TV at it's finest.

We pointed out on Tuesday that the recent DUI arrest of Jets receiver Braylon Edwards could trigger prosecution in Ohio for violation of the probation order entered when he pleaded no contest to assaulting the 130-pound friend of LeBron James.

Now, multiple reports have emerged indicating that the judge in Ohio will pursue the matter after Edwards' DUI case is resolved.

"The judge has been notified, pending the outcome of his case," Cleveland Municipal Court spokesman Ed Ferenc told Jenny Vrentas of the Newark Star-Ledger. "If he's found guilty, he will be called back to Cleveland and faces up to six months in jail and a $1,000 fine."

TMZ also reports that the Ohio judge won't take action while the DUI case is pending.

But the two reports conflict on whether a conviction is necessary. The Star-Ledger, quoting the spokesman, indicates that the probation will be in jeopardy only if Edwards is found guilty. TMZ reports otherwise.

Typically, the question of whether probation has been violated entails a reduced standard of proof, with the judge determining whether the preponderance of the evidence indicates guilt, not the better-known criminal standard of proof beyond a reasonable doubt. If that standard applies in Ohio, the judge could find violation of probation even without overwhelming proof of drunk driving.

Either way, he shouldn't expect lenience. "Someone who has as much to lose as you should not be standing in front of me," Judge Michelle Early told Edwards when placing him on probation in January 2010, after he pleaded no contest to aggravated assault. "Situations like this are senseless. You have to make better choices."

When paying off a gambling loss it is important to know that just because you come up with the bear claws does not mean you get a pass on the honey buns.

At least that is what one inmate serving time in a Florida jail learned yesterday after losing a bet on Monday night’s NFL game between the New Orleans Saints and the San Francisco 49ers

According to a Hernando County Sheriff’s Office report, after Brandon Markey lost a wager with Ricardo Sellers, he went to his fellow inmate’s cell to pay off--with food. Markey, 23, was locked up for violating terms of his pretrial release following a prescription drug trafficking arrest.

However, a problem ensued when Markey sought to settle the bet solely with bear claws, instead of the additional "four honey buns" that the winner was supposed to have received. The lack of honey buns allegedly earned Markey a punch in the face from Sellers.

When interviewed by a detective, the 21-year-old Sellers denied striking Markey in connection with the dispute over the treats, which sell for $1.25 at the jail commissary. Sellers, coincidentally, is jailed for assault and battery, among other charges.

Ochocinco cereal box uses sex-line number

Quote:Charity-minded callers are getting intercepted by a phone-sex line because of a typo on Chad Ochocinco’s Cereal boxes.

The phone number is supposed to connect callers to Feed the Children, which benefits from sales of the Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver’s cereal. But the box has the wrong toll-free prefix, meaning callers get a seductive-sounding woman who makes risque suggestions and then asks for a credit card number.

Cincinnati-based Kroger Co. said Thursday it was pulling all Ochocinco cereal boxes from its grocery shelves because of the error. Some local stores had them on special display after the launch about a month ago.

A message was left Thursday for Pittsburgh-based PBL Sports, which specializes in limited-edition products featuring star athletes and their favorite charities.

Ochocinco told WCPO-TV that the number was clearly a mistake and he’s sure that the maker will fix the problem.

As of Thursday morning, he hadn’t mentioned the error in any of his frequent messages on the Twitter social media site. On Wednesday, he had urged fans to go to his website to order the cereal and “Start your day with a lil suga!!!”

Who the F knew he had a cereal?

Ravens cut Pryce thinking he'd re-sign after roster juggle

Quote:The 54-man roster trick has only one design flaw. In order to dump a vested veteran and bring him back the following week, the vested veteran must not sign with another team in the interim.

And that's precisely what defensive lineman Trevor Pryce has done a day after being cut by the Ravens. As first reported by Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs and confirmed by PFT, Pryce has defected to the Jets.

It's our understanding that the Ravens had an understanding with Pryce that he'd be coming back. Any such arrangement would be unenforceable at best, a violation of Article XXV, Section 1 of the CBA at worst; NFL spokesman Greg Aiello has confirmed that a team cannot promise to re-sign a player at a later date. Nevertheless, Mike Lombardi of NFL Network calls Pryce's decision to sign with the Jets "serious," and he suggests that the Ravens "won't be doing a deal anytime in the near future" with Lamont Smith and Peter Schaffer of All Pro Sports & Entertainment, the agents who represent Pryce.

Regardless of whether the Ravens are upset about Pryce going elsewhere (and it's our understanding that they aren't upset), it's the primary risk a team takes when hoping to dump a vested veteran and then pick him back up later.

And if the Ravens currently aren't upset, we'll see what happens if/when Pryce opts to take the balance of his $2 million base salary as termination pay -- while also getting paid by the Jets.

Report: Vikings working on trade for Randy Moss

Quote:Who needs Vincent Jackson(notes) when they can have Randy Moss(notes)?

The Minnesota Vikings are working to complete a trade with the New England Patriots that would bring the veteran wide receiver back to the team he broke into the league with as an immediate star.

According to Jay Glazer of Fox Sports, the Vikings are working on a new contract for Moss, who is a free agent after this season, to close the deal.

Moss could pair up with Brett Favre(notes) in Minnesota after nearly joining forces with him in Green Bay, a terrific story that has been wonderfully chronicled previously by Andrew Brandt of the National Football Post.

The Vikings are coming out of their bye week hoping to build some momentum. Adding Moss to the mix would certainly give a punchless passing game that misses Sidney Rice(notes) a real boost. Stay tuned.

The Packers went into yesterday's game missing quite a few starters (at least six) due to injuries, some guys are out for the season. Five players went out during the game with injuries, not counting Rodgers who has a concussion from a helmet to helmet hit. His last play of the game and he gets nailed in the melon, of course it wasn't called.

They were playing shitty to begin with, now with so many starters out the season isn't looking too good. I'm doubting they'll make the playoffs.

I wonder if Favre's elbow really hurts or if he's building up another excuse to retire.
