I Can't Stop - Agileguy - 08-23-2014 So a new GC opened up in my area about a year ago and I still hadn't been there, mostly since I've had no real reason to be in that area. But since I was passing right by it on my way from school to work today, I thought I'd stop in and check out the used selection. I was pretty impressed - they had a lot of nice used gear for nice prices. A Mesa DC-5 head for $500, a Sound City 120 L (6 EL34s!!!) for a grand, and a EVH III (100W, the one with separate eq for each channel) for $1100. I was really interested in the EVH, but it was way too stiff for my liking. But the crown jewel was an Avatar 4x12 for $275. I was told it has 2 V30s and two Greenbacks. I could probably sell just the speakers and make a little money. It seems like an awesome cab, but I didn't get the chance to try it out with an amp I liked. It should sound awesome with my Egnater though, so I'm looking forward to that. I'm going back to pick it up in about a week and a half, I just have to wait for the police hold to finish and then a few more days until my next paycheck comes in. Check it: Now I have 3 cabs. But everyone needs a 4x12, right? Ah well, I'll compare all three of my cabs and if one isn't quite as good as the others I'll sell it off. I'm just happy I got a killer deal.
