man. We had a long discussion about his homeland. He spoke of the beauty of the countryside, and the people (especially in the fairer sex). He told me about the food.

We talked of the trials of being in a country that had split over significant ideological differences, and especially being so close to a new country being run by a madman.

I told him that I had known some Koreans who had offered me kimchi, but I could not bring myself to eat it due to the smell. I prefer Chinese food.

I asked him why Koreans can turn out so many guitars so quickly. I am pleased with my bass, but many have said that their axes are substandard, and that the Japanese axes reportedly have superior workmanship.

I asked him why the automobiles they make had so many problems in the first few years of production. I've heard too many stories of persistent maintenance problems. Of course, many of those have since been corrected. Yet, Japan has been ruling the car market for years.

I wondered about the impact of these stories on the reputation of the country.

After all this talk, he apparently became nostalgic for his homeland. He stared off to the side, and simply said,

"Ah. Seoul."

I love meeting new people.

It was a thread too risqué for SDUGF.
