I'm sure I'm late to the party on this, but I was watching Japanese television and was stunned when Marty Friedman suddenly came on as a music show host, speaking entirely in Japanese. Looked it up and apparently he's been studying Japanese since leaving Megadeth and relocated to Tokyo. I didn't know all this.

I only focus on music, I don't often follow personal stories. On the flip side of that, I've been studying Japanese language and watching Japanese media since 2002 but have never seen him on any shows there before.
