Like the title says.

When storing spare pickups outside of guitars, how far apart do you need to keep them to avoid any magnetic influences of one against the other, degaussing issues, etc. ?

Likewise with pickup mags. How far apart do you need to keep them? Or what materials can you put between them that stop the magnetic influence of one to the other? (Is there such a thing?)

I think its possible but extremely unlikely

Degaussing only happens when you force together poles that oppose each other. Ie forcing north and north together, the weaker magnet will get degaussed.

Putting attractive poles together is not harmful.the weaker mag will, if anything, get charged to its own maximum gauss and no further. In the case of magnets intentionally charged below max gauss, just store em separately.

I don't have any mags charged below max gauss for each magnet type so I just store them all with attractive poles touching, lined up from weakest mag to strongest (a3->a2->a4->a5->a8->ceramic->OSceramic) in a soft towel to prevent physical damage and the the wrapped up towel goes into a drawer without any other magnets or metallic objects.

Thanks guys. I'm using just a simple divided storage container, but I recalled a thread on the other site where someone said Seymour Duncan boxes were a particular size for a reason - and I noticed my divider box might not be wide enough, so I asked. Wasn't sure if I should add some foam to keep them a certain distance from each other.

dude, on a guitar with three buckers, the pickups are closer together than you have em in that pic.

I honestly wouldn't worry about it. You're doing fine.

Some 80;s charvels have single coil in the bridge that are placed hard against each other.

Actually that ibby i posted yesterday has 2 singles in the bridge

I would think you'd need to keep them apart at least long enough that the new one doesn't see the old one leaving. Women can be possessive.
