Floyd Blocks - lreese - 02-02-2015 So what's the current opinion on the best Floyd block material? I've got a Brass Floyd branded heavy block ready to install. Was looking at the the thing and thought I might be able to do a steel one easily and a bell bronze if I can find a piece of material. A metal cutting chop saw should suffice. There's different brass alloys too - got to be sure not to get a leaded alloy. Not too interested in Titanium or Aluminum (Which IMO sucks on my Strats). RE: Floyd Blocks - Oinkus - 02-02-2015 Only have brass but Titanium is said to be more musical , I have a chunk but haven't gotten around to trying to make it into a block.Heck they make them out of stone now I have no clue? The ones I have are Bell Brass no idea on the actual metal content. RE: Floyd Blocks - LesStrat - 02-02-2015 I have a Floyd block that is quite effective. I own no guitars with whammy bars. RE: Floyd Blocks - kinnikuman - 02-02-2015 I liek rbass but i havent tried titanium. I want to try those stone blocks. i think they would be great. RE: Floyd Blocks - lreese - 02-02-2015 We must be twins! I blocked out Floyd too! At least until you brought it up. :p (Pretty Boy Floyd) ![]() RE: Floyd Blocks - LesStrat - 02-02-2015 Sorry I couldn't be of assistance. (Did it work?
