Expensive damn cables - Big Flannel - 03-11-2015

In the process of running the Malekko ekko 616 dark through a grueling battery of tests for review purposes, my CoreX cable decided to die. Like, completely. Now I'm having to remember where I put my spare.

Just remember, those "strain resistant" sleeves they slap on expensive cable ends do nothing but keep you from fixing a break yourself.

unless it's one of those molded rubberized plastic strain relief things that is part of the plug, then pretty much any other strain relief can be removed for maintenance.

sometimes the "strain relief" is actually just a large piece of heat shrink tubing.

I've literally tried everything and and the plug will not separate. I have no idea how they engineered it, but its like the Ft. Knox of cables.
