The Raphsby tele - kinnikuman - 09-07-2015

I am going to make this, Bolt on mahogany/maple neck with 27ish frets, hoop pine body and hard tail. I want to do it in a seafoam green or light blue.  Gibson style headstock and high output direct mounted pups to boot. :toast:

What do you guys think?

Interesting take on a "tele". I kind of like it.

Evo's?

I think you ought to consider a B-Bender and Keith tuner. For those power metal pedal steel licks. huge grin

Whats evo's? Gold fretwire? nah but i think i will go for the jumbo nickel jescar. Also i am going to make it with no radius like my last 3 builds.

I would want a Tele humbucker bridge and a Teisco 4x2 headstock

Tele designation requires tele bridge, at the very least

RE: The Raphsby tele - lreese - 09-08-2015

No one told GE Smith that.  huge grin

He whacked his bridge like Lorena Bobbitt whacked John.

That's still technically a tele bridge in my eyes.

RE: The Raphsby tele - kinnikuman - 09-08-2015

Those 3 barrel bridges are a pile of shit. I was thinking gotoh hardtail.

This will have a flat fingerboard and 27 frets it wont matter what bridge it uses.

A Babicz Tele humbucker bridge will make you very happy ! I wouldn't lie to you and ask Bruce he will back me up on this one. It always matters what hardware you put on a guitar the better it is built the better the guitar will play and sound.

Yeah i don't use shit hardware anyway. But  i seek out affordable good hardware like gotoh or schaller. I don't have the spare money to throw on a babicz. So jsut a plain old gotoh hardtail will do.
