RE: Recapping a Vintage Radio - GoldenVulture - 10-04-2015 Who's being negative ? The electron flow , that's who. This very clever manipulation of the negative potential of the atomic structure is fascinating to say the geekest. New caps are in , valve pins cleaned and all is working quite well. I had to replace the speaker as the original one was a little stuffed [ all distorted and treble excessive ]. The waxed string in the tuning mechanism was shot so I replaced that with some fishing line and this too is now working well. I'm cleaning some grime off the case and after that I will attach a new power cord and it will be reassembled. I will post pics when it's finished. :scratchch: [ We need a Geek smiley ]

I can appreciate a good relic. :old: RE: Recapping a Vintage Radio - GoldenVulture - 10-27-2015 The case has a crack in the back section on the top left. You can just make it out in the top view. It had paint spatters on it too [ white ] I glued the crack and cleaned off the paint spots and spatter. I got a new tool recently, a Mini grinding wheel and polishing wheel which also has and extended flexile drive that can attatch drill bits , grinding stones , sanding disks and polishing disks which I tested out on the case. It worked well I thought. |
