Yella Pils taste like PBR so you may as well by PBR for half the money

Are you on creezack!! Yella Pils = PBR? Unless PBR changed the recipe to include a lot more hops and a lot less corn then I must be missing something. Don't get me wrong I can get behind a PBR any day of the week the beer is solid for what it is. But in no way does it taste like Yella Pils.

Well have to have some fun with this how about a blind tasting of PBR, Budweiser, Lagunitas Czech Pils, Budweiser Budvar, Sierra Nevada Summerfest and Pilsner Urquell all Czech Pilsners (Budweiser and PBR adjunct versions). We could write up a nice piece since the forums seem to be bashing your mention of PBR could be fun thoughts? :)

Dont forget Stoudt's Pils and Sam Adams Pilsner is probally the best I have had in a long time.

Sorry PBR going against the likes of "Mickey's Malt Liquor, Icehouse, Milwakee's best, Olympia, and HG 800 in the American-Style premium/specialty lager category doesn't qualify as going against the likes of craft pilsners. I know technically it isn't apples to apples comparing those beers with Bud and PBR but isn't that the point? Since people were so disgusted at having PBR on the list it would be a nice experiment to see where it shows up in a blind tasting among the "acceptable" beers.

You are right on there. Most craft pilsners and lagers are modeled after their Europeon counterparts. It would be very easy to tell the difference between the brands.

I think it would have to be an carefully compiled list sticking very closee to the style guide lines and Mama's Pils and Sam Adams Pils should make the list. Sounds like fun I might start stock piling beers for a tasting.
