from their new album, Pale Communion, that's scheduled for release around the end of summer. The song's called Cusp of Eternity.
And I found out too late. Warner Music took it down.
I don't suppose anyone here got a chance to hear it?

nice. Thanks Jordan.
That's an interesting. I'm not entirely sure what I think of it. Gonna need to hear it in the context of the rest of the album, definitely.

I'm definitely looking forward to the new album. It seems like it was forever ago that Heritage came out.

so now that i`ve had a listen to the whole album...
it`s interesting. Not sure if I like it or not though. Lots of really enjoyable parts all over the album. It`s a LOT more obscure-70`s-prog-nerd-rock than Heritage was.
And I realized that Fred Akesson, while a very capable guitarist, is piss poor (at least on this album) at writing solos that fit the songs. He just wanks and wanks and wanks without ever having a point to his solos. Not even in the "hey, that's a cool wanky prog solo" sense, but more in the "oh great, metal guitarist can't change gears and is going full on unnecessarily and doesn't even realize it" sense. Kinda annoying. I'm sure he's got rhythm chops for days and is probably a good person to have in studio for writing, but his solos are just... out of place.
Mikael's voice sounds kinda forced in a lot of parts on this album. He can hit the notes just fine, but I'm not hearing conviction in his delivery. It's a bit anti-climatic. No other significant criticisms.
