So as I was walking from my bedroom through my living room yesterday, I smelled something burning. Later that night, I realized my HTPC was off. Thought it was the power supply, but nope. Looks like blown cap on the motherboard. I guess it's time to upgrade my Socket 939 board. Yes, it's that old.

Have fun finding a Mother board with PCI slots or with more than one.
Entry level these days brings you at least a dual core CPU. A good multi core would do well in an HTPC.

Gigabyte micro-ATX board with a Core i3 and 8 GB of RAM for a little under $300. Video works great with integrated graphics, unbelievably. Too bad I got a DOA ASUS board in the process.

Two. It seems to fit the bill perfectly. There are still several full-size ATX boards with three.
