Everything the NFL did was within their operational guidelines that everyone at every level of the NFL has agreed to in order to stay in the league. Thems the rules. The NFL rules say they don't have to prove shit. If you smell like you are guilty of something, they can punish you for it, regardless of how the legal system in the US operates. Don't like it? Play in the other professional football league.

If Kraft wanted to fight this he would probably win and without his support Goodell's tenure looks less certain because the majority of owners want to see him replaced and are tired of his scandals and ineffective investigations.  He's been on shaky ground since the lockout a few years ago.

Probably why all of the orders are supposedly coming from Troy Vincent.

I wouldn't care if it was any other team in the NFL.  It seems like it is ALWAYS the Patriots when some shady shit is going down.   Slap them harder and harder each time.  If Brady wants to appeal, and he still doesn't cooperate in turning over evidence in the appeal process, add more games to his suspension.

Those rules were all put in place to even out the playing field. They are there so no one team can hold an advantage. Thinking that the Pats are the only ones doing everything in there power to gain the edge they need to win is not a good idea. I know you said, "I wouldn't care if it was any other team in the NFL." And that's the problem I'm having with this. If it were Tony Romo, Aaron Rodgers, or Peyton Manning, no one would care.

Like I said before, The worst thing you can do in pro sports these days is win. It seems to hurt people more than it helps. Why even play?

As much as I hate the Patriots, they still beat the colts by 38 points. And the deflated balls were replaced at halftime. That's still an ass kicking of epic proportions. I think the results of the season are still valid. As much as I hate the Patriots......

Goodell is not interested in resolving problems. He only cares about the image of himself and the NFL.

The punishments given to the Saints a couple of years ago for the bounties was nonsensical. He claimed that it was about player safety, yet he only investigated ONE team. Does anyone believe that it was isolated?

Better yet, did anyone review film to determine whether any injuries resulted from the bounty system?

None of this is about proving wrong-doing, only improving image.

First Spikes last week and now this. 

The Patriots have prevented cornerback Malcolm Butler from voluntarily participating in three weeks of voluntary practices because he missed the first day of voluntary OTA sessions, because he involuntarily missed a flight. And that could be a problem for the Patriots.


According to Albert Breer of NFL Media, the NFL Players Association is investigating whether the team’s decision to keep Butler out of voluntary practices because he missed one of them violates the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Article 21, Section 5(a) of the CBA states: “No Club official may indicate to a player that the Club’s offseason workout program or classroom instruction is not voluntary (or that a player’s failure to participate in a workout program or classroom instruction will result in the player’s failure to make the Club or result in any other adverse consequences affecting his working conditions).”
