I hit the liquor store on the way home from work. I had to come home early and watch the kids because my wife had to go out. I just downed a Cooper's Best Extra Stout and now I'm on a Stone BC 08.08.08 Vertical Epic Ale. HOLY CRAP! This Stone Vertical Epic Ale may be the BEST beer I've ever had! HOLY FUCKING SHITBALLS! I'm in heaven.

I still need to find a case of that to lay some down it is a great beer.
I am drinking the Shipyard Barleywine the color is a lot browner than I expected almost the color of a brown ale with some reddish tones. Over the top caramel nose with a touch of toffee and faint bits of raisin. The mouth feel is full and there is a toasted dark malt/chocolate malt finish with a alcoholic punch to the jaw.

I've been there many times, honestly there are finally a few decent spots to get some solid beers appearing in the Lowell area with a populus of 100k+ and after 5 years living there it is about time!

I just picked up six packs of... Bear Republic Red Rocket Ale, Bear Republic Racer #5 Ale, Victory Golden Monkey, and two BIG bottles of a new limited edition Flying Fish "Exit 4" Belgian Dubbel. I'm half loaded and I've only had four beers! The Golden Monkey is 9%abv, the Red Rocket is like 7% and the Red Racer is 6.8%. Whoa! That's three six packs and two big corked bottles and it cost me $57! HOLY FUCK!!! I went to a little shit-hole liquor store that likes to rip people off.

Oskar Blues "Mama's Little Yellow Pils" and it tastes like PBR which isn't bad, that is actually a good thing but it means I jut paid 7 bucks for a 6 pack of PBR when I could have got a 30 pack of real PBR for about 14 bucks....feeling like an asshole about now
