We've had crazy weather lately. There's been an abundance of storms that just dump a shitload of rain in short periods of time. We picked up three inches of rain overnight in just a few hours. I woke up when a loud crack of thunder shook the house and knocked out the power around 1:30.

Same here, Saturday is supposed to be nice but Sunday they're calling for
thunderstorms. I hope it doesn't rain, there's a big 100 year celebration at a local park I'm checking out on Sunday. Normally I avoid shit like that but they're going to open up all the old buildings for tours. Two of the buildings haven't been open to the public in decades.
There's going to be a petting zoo, you know what that means....goats!

Hot and humid out here in La-La land. It's been raining out in the desert and we've had fires sparked by lightning.

Ok, that sucked. The second highest rain total for our area in recorded history. Almost six inches fell in a really short period of time. The North side of town had seven inches dumped on them in less then an hour, eight inches total. They've declared a state of disaster for the entire county. There's so much damage it'll take weeks before they get shit sorted out. A HUGE sinkhole opened on the East side of town and swallowed up a Cadillac Escalade.
The sewers at the end of my street were full of water, the intersection had a foot and a half of water on it and the dude that lives on the corner had water up to his front door. I lucked out and only had a relatively small amount of water in the basement, thankfully it's unfinished. My brother had another sewer backup in his basement. This shit is insane.

I'm sure that's what HE said too.
We're in the middle of another heat wave. Mid 90s until Monday, when it cools down to the high 80s. The humidity is the bitch though. They're saying the heat index will be 115 tomorrow.
Maybe the planet has had enough of us assholes.

That's brutal, that shit just saps the energy out of a person. I never thought I'd say it, but I'm ready for Winter.
This is officially the wettest July on record for the city of Milwaukee, fucking rain...nothing changes. The somewhat funny thing about that sinkhole swallowing that Cadillac Escalade, the guy had just filled the tank up and after 24 hours the thing is still running...and in gear...with the blinker on. They don't want to remove it until it runs out of gas.

My old man has been fighting something similar in our basement for years... this works.
Last time we had "100 year flooding" (two years ago), he had two or three feet of shit in his basement. One of his neighbors had those backflow preventing valves in his floor drains, the force of the water backing up buckled his floor.
