A California man is accused of possibly blinding his four year old son in gruesome fashion.
Police say 34 year old Angelo Mendoza bit an eyeball out of his four year old son's face and ate it.
The boy had numerous bites to his hands and his eyes were swollen shut. Doctors said the boy's left eye and muscle were missing; his other eye is mutilated beyond repair.
The police report said Mendoza appeared to be on PCP.
Mendoza was arrested on charges of aggravated mayhem, torture, and cruelty to a child. Police say the toddler is now in the custody of child protective services. Mendoza is due in court Wednesday.
His bail is set at one million dollars.

NEW YORK, May 14 (UPI) -- Police in New York said a man accused of using counterfeit money was reported by a stripper who suspected the customer's $10 bills were frauds.
Authorities said Michael Harris, 40, was arrested in the early hours May 5 after a stripper at the Gotham City peep-show parlor determined that his $10 bills were counterfeit and told a manager, the New York Daily News reported Thursday.
Harris threw 21 of the fake bills on the floor of the establishment and attempted to flee, but he was caught by the manager and held until officers arrived, police said.
Investigators found a few more of the bogus bills stashed in Harris' boot. They said he walked into the business with 28 of the fake notes, which appeared to have been made on an Ink Jet printer.
Harris, who has three previous arrests, was charged with 28 counts of criminal possession of a forged instrument, a felony. He was released after posting $2,500 bail.
Authorities said they are investigating the suspect's claim that he received the counterfeit bills from a friend.

A popular stunt often seen on the internet sent a Pennsylvania teen to the hospital with serious injuries.
The incident happened Monday afternoon in a wooded area in Sellersville, Bucks County.
According to police, a 16-year-old suffered severe facial injuries after a keg was tossed into a fire pit. The fire caused the keg to explode and fly in various directions.
The teen was struck by shrapnel from the keg explosion and was rushed to Lehigh Valley Hospital. His family told CBS 3 he is expected to eventually recover.
Because the incident involved minors, investigators are withholding details about the incident; however, the investigation is ongoing.
