I inquired of Dell tonight whether I could upgrade my order to increase the RAM and was informed that the units are preconfigured and that the configurations are determined by the marketing department.
I know that I upgraded the RAM in my PC when I ordered it in 2011 (and again a year or so later w/3rd party chips). Now they say that I cannot do so. Odd. You’d think that they’d want the money. I’d prefer that they spent time installing more hardware instead of loading McAfee onto the system.
There should be specs that tell you how much Ram the computer can use. Is it the same as what is being offered ?
I don't think there's anything in Warranty's that say you can't upgrade your Ram with third party products. I buy my Ram online from computer suppliers I used to physically do business with when I lived in Melb.
It's really cheap on Aliexpress.
