Dumbest most extravagant purchase to date

I was just straightening up my closet and saw my inspiration for this thread. When I was a kid we were not poor but a pair of $50 Nikes in the 70s were out of my reach. My Dad gave me the typical when you have your own money you buy any type of sneakers you want. So little to say I have was too many pairs of sneakers now. Every dumb brand and type you can think of.

I spent $265 on a pair or Pirelli Driving Sneakers at Barney's a couple of years ago. Probaly about what my Dad made per week back in the 70s. If he were alive he would definitely call me a moron.

I don't feel as stupid as my buddy that spent $120 on three pairs of socks that same day. (Yes Gator he was one of the other ushers in your wedding)
