Memo to NFL players: Watch what you say to your teammates. They may be wearing hidden microphones.
Thatââ¬â¢s a lesson that Matt Leinart apparently learned the hard way, as he reportedly ripped the Cardinals and their coaching staff during a preseason game while talking to a teammate who, unbeknownst to Leinart, was wearing a microphone designed to capture the sounds of the game.
Dan Bickley of the Arizona Republic reports that the teammate (whom Bickley doesnââ¬â¢t name) asked Leinart about his future in Arizona, and that Leinart let loose on the organization and head coach Ken Whisenhunt.
Itââ¬â¢s not clear exactly what Leinart said, and it doesnââ¬â¢t sound like it had anything to do with the Cardinalsââ¬â¢ decision to release Leinart shortly thereafter ââ¬â it was Leinartââ¬â¢s shoddy play on the field, not his comments on the sideline, that led to the Cardinals sending him packing.
But the story could be a lesson for us all ââ¬â itââ¬â¢s probably not a good idea to badmouth your boss if you want to keep your job.
