I think the Packers were looking better in the early days of this, but this typical corporate greed attitude is going to swing things towards Favre.
Is it greed or is it the cap hit they're going to take by releasing him? Since he never put his papers in and officially retired, he's still a Packer and if they outright release him, they're going to suffer the penalty. I believe he is under a pretty recent deal too. Then again, I'm not so sure a trade relives them of the cap hit, but at least they get something in return for it.
I think the NFL is going to have to make a special ruling to resolve this.
