The issue with a lot of digital cameras is their slow focus speed. Image stabilization helps with that. The a2500 is considered entry level. The controls are easy to use and the layout isn't cluttered. The slight contour of the design makes it more ergonomic which cuts down on "shake".
I'd honestly recommend a camera with a touch-screen so all you need to do to focus is tap on the screen like you would with your phone.
Also, I can't recall but I believe the a2500 has a "burst shot" mode where it takes several photos in rapid succession with one push of the button. That's particularly useful for candid shots because you have the opportunity to pick the best of the bunch.
