My brother is in a situation where his certifications leave him "over qualified" for the available positions in his field while the jobs he's actually qualified for are non-existent.
He was promised the typical bag of goods that the American education system is so proficient in pushing and now he's fucked. He's one of the smartest men I know (other than me, of course) but he is seen as having "no viable skillset" by anyone outside his field of study.
It is a truly painful experience to be worrued about someone you love not being able to tread water. I hate it.
