where an artist just finally clicks for you?
My mom is a die-hard Bruce Springsteen fan. She's probably seen him 15+ times in her life, and when I was growing up his catalog was always in heavy rotation. When The Rising came out, back when I was a wee lad of 11, I probably heard it a few times a week for many months because of how much driving we did. And perhaps because of that, I never really sought out his work on my own time.
But I put on Born to Run today, and it just clicked for me. It's an incredible album in every way, a blue collar equivalent to a magnum opus such as Purple Rain or Good Apollo, I'm Burning Star IV Part I. It's practically an emotional connection for me.
Have you ever had an artist that you're aware of for a long time but eventually just clicks for you? Who as it and why?
