You make a good point, and I would have trouble arguing with it. His offensive numbers will certainly cause some not to vote for him.
But, I was mostly talking about his game-call ability and the way he manages the team from the field. He's one of the best game callers since Johnny Bench.
The Sox made him team Captain for a reason, and it surely wasn't his offensive prowess.
