A Florida woman has sued former Cowboys receiver Michael Irvin, alleging that he raped her more than two years ago after meeting her at a Fort Lauderdale hotel bar.
The lawsuit was filed Thursday in Broward County, Fla. The woman, listed as Jane Doe, alleges that she met Irvin and an unidentified man at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino on July 4, 2007, and that Irving bought her drinks.
Irvin and the other man then raped her in Irvin's hotel room, according to the lawsuit. Irvin's lawyer, Larry Friedman, said the woman used the threat of the lawsuit to try to extort $1 million from Irvin."
