I think that Carraba's is owned by the same people who own Olive Garden, or at least I heard that somewhere once.
Famous Dave's is OK, but pales in comparison to the barbeque places I've been to in FL, like Sonny's. Or local joints like Sweet Lucy's in Northeast Philly (possibly the best I've ever had) or Newberry Backyard Barbeque in North FL, or Uncle Pete's in Revere (sadly closed), or Redbones in Davis Square.
I really dislike Longhorn Steakhouse. It used to be very good, but has had a rapid decline in recent years. And I've been to about 4 or 5 different ones in a couple of states with no joy. The last time I went to one, we waited about 20 minutes to get our order taken, then another 40 for our food, then when it came out, it was ice cold and the potatoes were hard. The manager comp'd us the whole bill - and there were 7 of us at the table - and she gave us free desert
Texas Roadhouse is OK, but that has gone downhill too.

I had Redbones for lunch today the BBQ Chilli....no chain could ever touch Redbones. Steve when/if you come to Boston we will go there, the beer menu is sick.

Steve, if you ever go to Redbones, you'll never see Famous Dave's the same again. The place is awesome.
But, a little closer to home you really should try Sweet Lucy's on Rhawn and State Road if you're ever up in the Northeast. It's pretty amazing.

I'll put it on the list. My parents live up that way and I see the billboards on 95 for them whenever I head up there... which is usually for a dinner from mom, so I'm not looking to go to any restaurants.

Not to build up their business, but they do a thriving take-out business too.
You can run in there and get a couple of racks of ribs or barbeque chicken to go with all the fixins, and they even include all the warming directions.
I have gone in there for lunch in the past and gotten some stuff for dinner for later in the week.

Are you kidding we can hit Sam, Harpoon, Cambridge Brewing. And of course the Sunset Grill....talk about great food. They have a Stone Arrogant Bastard BBQ sauce. Take the train up with Gator you can crash here. Cheap trip.
