I can't stand NIN. No pretending there. A lot of musicians that I respect love them though so obviously there's something there that I just don't get but to each his own. Korn I like a few songs that come on the radio mainly because they were big when I was a kid and remind me of my childhood.

Deftones are amazing though and are on a whole other level of awesome. I have all their albums and was also lucky enough to open a show for them when their tour stopped in Norfolk back in 2006 I think it was? They were incredible live.

That's awesome, man.

I reverted back to angry 16yo Devin today. It was good.

Ha I get that for sure. I was rocking out to Rage yesterday. And at 30 I'm still angry!

Not a fan of any of that. Maybe I could give them a try again but I was all thrash in hs then pretty much went classic rock some time around 18.

The angst is part of my charm. Try it.

They'd have to be incredible live for me to give you a pass on listening to that garbage.

It was a wildly different band at the time. They used to just be called "Hybrid Theory" and we're heavy as Andre the Giant's balls. Then albums came out, money came in...and they changed to appeal to the same "mall metal" crowd that Slipknot capitalized on. Then they re-released their EP with their new sound and lost me.

It's one of those experiences that you have to be there for. A cathartic representation of a young and hungry band becoming a corporate monster and alienating the very fans that elevated them to that level. I haven't listened to them since.

The best concert I've ever seen was TOOL. That was a phenomenal production.
