Its on the mark for me, but there's a certain response I'm not sure I like.  I remembered it from way back then too.

Pickups without visible pole pieces just look weird on a Strat.

For me, covered pickups are OK. I get along with 'em. Some other older Fender models has no polepieces on the cover.

Its flat pole pieces that bother the crap out of me.
