I'm taking a Journey to Asia
#1
I pre-ordered tickets to see Journey with special guest ASIA in June.  I already booked the hotel room as well.

I like both bands.  This should be good.  Hopefully John Wetton will be performing again by then.  He is undergoing chemotherapy and cannot fly.  They already have a sub for the 1st 12 dates.

Oh, YEAH! Steve Smith is back in Journey for this tour.
Because I said so.

yeah, it that is on the first leg of the tour.

I'm seeing them on the second leg, 3rd or 4th date.

The concert was last night at the Smoothie King Center, formerly known as the New Orleans Arena.

Asia sounded good, but I think that they suffered the opening act syndrome. It was hard to hear the guitar most times, and the vocals were muddy. Otherwise I enjoyed the show. Billy Sherwood does a great job with Wetton's unique vocals. I couldn't understand the name of the guitarist. No, the scarecrow was not there. :(.

Journey ROCKED! No amps on stage, but the sound was HUGE.

My biggest complaint was the constant movement from the drinking crowd. The same people were in and out all evening. SIT DOWN already!

All in all it was a good concert and I'm glad we made it.

Steve Smith is a monster he was with the band the first time I saw them. No matter the line-up of the band Neil always seems to deliver a great show.

Thanks for reminding me!

Steve Smith keeps his kit arranged tightly. He sits straight and you see VERY little movement, even during his solo. He is a MONSTER drummer!

He has extra snares in his kit. When he plays a fill that ends with a snare hit, he hits two different sounding snare drums. It makes for a HUGE sound.

The dude is smooth.

I saw yesterday that Neal and Jonathan Cain are feuding. You might want to catch this tour while you can.

Cain has said nothing publicly. Neal is going after Cain through social media.

I think that is ill-advised.
