The women were holding a car wash to raise money for a stabbing victim, who was a boyfriend of one of the suspects, 29-year-old Sara Kellum of Merced. The man approached Kellum and another suspect, 24-year-old Crystal Baeza. The suspect led the man to believe they would offer him sexual favors, according to investigators, MacKenzie said.

After the women got into the man’s vehicle, he drove to Shannon’s Grocery Liquor-Deli at 369 S. State Highway 59 and bought some beer. He left the liquor store and drove on Sandy Mush Road, where the vehicle blew a tire, MacKenzie said.

Kellum called a friend at the car wash, asking him to come pick them up.
The friend, however, had no idea the girls were planning on robbing the man, MacKenzie said. After their ride arrived, the two women turned on the victim with a baseball bat and crow bar, taking his wallet and some bank statements. They got into their friend’s vehicle and left, MacKenzie said.

WATERFORD TWP. – A 35-year-old Waterford Township woman has been accused of sexually assaulting the teenage son she gave up for adoption years before.

Aimee Louise Sword is charged with third-degree criminal sexual assault after Waterford Township police said she used the Internet to track down her teenage biological son and had sex with him.

Sword’s attorney Kenneth Burch said his client “maintains her presumption of innocence,” adding that the criminal accusations have been very difficult for her. Police and prosecutors said Sword had given her son up for adoption more than 10 years prior to the assaults.

Police officials said Sword surrendered April 24 to Waterford Township police after a warrant was issued for her arrest.

She had originally been charged with three counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct. Sword was arraigned that day and given a $1,000 bond for each criminal charge, but with the option of posting 10 percent for her release.

She remains free on bond. Two of those charges were dropped Wednesday when Sword declined to exercise her right to a preliminary examination during a hearing before Judge Sword Phyllis C. McMillen in 51st District Court in Waterford.

Oakland County Assistant Prosecutor Nicki Weisberger said Sword has the option of going back and having the preliminary examination if a plea to the third-degree criminal sexual conduct isn’t reached in Oakland County Circuit Court.

Waterford police officials said Child Protective Services notified detectives about the sexual assaults.

Details about the date and location of the alleged assaults were not readily available.
