Verizon Blows Chunks
#1
First world problem:

I've been getting annoying automated calls the last few days. When I answer, a pleasant computer says "thank you for your call; goodbye" and then hangs up. I guess computers get lonely, too, but this is annoying.

So I finally called the number on the caller ID and got a recorded message saying that I should call 1-800-VERIZON for assistance. I called the 800 number and after a few minutes on hold, I spoke with a very un-helpful woman who wanted me to upload six DNA samples before she could answer any questions. Finally, she forwarded me to their "illegal calls dep't" which is apparently just a recording that says their offices aren't open, even when they should be.

Fuck that shit. I went to fcc.gov and filed a complaint against the motherfuckers. If a phone company the size of Verizon can't get their head around proper application of telemarketing laws, maybe they should think about going into some other line of business.

Annoying as it may be, it reads funny !
I get computer originated calls. The moment I hear the computer talking I hang up. In your case it beats you to it.

Yeah, these computers get more and more human every day.

Strangely, i got more compassion from the computer hanging up on me than I did from the "actual human" customer service rep. Morons.

Thy living in NH with the Presidential primaries coming up. Not only do I get robo-calls but 5 pollsters a day on the weekend all assuming I am a democrat despite the NRA Member sticker on the front door.

It's all of the wireless carriers from what I have seen.

Do a search at SD for LesStrat, ATT.
Because I said so.

Well I know Verizon is a wireless carrier, but this involves my land line. These guys are idiots. I called them from my home phone number and provided my full name and zip code, and they still aren't sure it's really me calling. Had they just listened to my complaint and put me on their DNC list, I wouldn't have bothered to call the narcs.

@Verizon: Here's a hint. Your automated phone harassment system is broken. It has nothing to do with my customer account. If you were calling me to tell me that my house was on fire, it would still be an illegal call. I was doing you a favor to try to let you know. Hopefully you take notice when the FCC fines you *per incident* for the thousands of illegal calls your robots are making.

Assuming the FCC takes ANY action.

How much does Verizon donate to the DNC? The RNC?
Because I said so.

Yeah, I know. But it still felt good for a little while there.

Verizon is special to me - Having experienced years of their "fiber" maintenances.
Proud Deplorable/Listless Vessel/Garbage!
