Makin a big pot of chili
#21
you know, i am totally for chillies in desserts.

But I am skeptical at best when it comes to chocolate in savoury foods. With the exception of mole sauce.

On a side note, I made my chipotle/cayenne/cinnamon butter, used that in the brownie batter and added a few generous dashes of freshly finely ground cinnamon and chipotle (seeds too) into the dry ingredients. I also mixed some leftover ground chipotle + cinnamon into some icing sugar for finale.

this is gonna be friggin GOOD.

we usually associate chocolate with milk chocolate, which isn't a great choicen for savoury dishes.
Dark chocolate and cocao on the other hand are great choices.

it is good.

deep, rich, chocolatey flavour at the onset, and the aftertaste consists of more smokey hints and a nice soothing throaty burn that lingers a while.

only way it could be better is if I bothered to make a cayenne raspberry compote to top it off.
