FUCK YOU FEDEX
#1
So some of you may remember how, upon receiving my wonderful D'avanzo guitar, I discovered it was damaged in shipping by the wonderful people at Fedex. Well apparently as part of their claim process, one must send the item in question back to Fedex so they can assess the damage and determine if they're going to pay out.

Fun fact - despite the terrible damage on the side of the guitar, there was no damage to the box. It was likely just dropped very hard on its side onto the floor, which of course would do little to no damage to the box. Another fun fact - my guitar was shipped in an ATA rated case. Fuck you too, Gator.

Anyway, because there was no damage to the box, Fedex summarily denied my claim. They then decided to ship the guitar all the way back to Mike in New York, and during transit, they fucked up AGAIN. (I would embed the image but it's fucking gigantic.

Now there's nothing I can do because apparently Mike is the only one that they'll let file a claim or do anything, really. This just blows.

YOU FUCKING SUCK HAIRY BALLS FEDEX.

pics no work bro.

FedEx is fucking gheeeeeyyyy. Same with UPS. Avoid at all costs.
Though really, how'd it get fucked up while inside an ATA case?
was it a molded plastic dealie or one of those big heavy motherfucker flight cases with aluminum corners and hardened edges?

Links are fixed.

I can only guess that they dropped it way too hard on a hard surface. It looks like they actually dropped it headstock first from the pictures Mike sent me.

It's one of the plastic cases, this one. You see how the latch on the right side is close to the edge of the guitar? Well on mine the edge of the guitar lines up with that latch. We think that it was dropped on that side of the case and the rivet holding the latch dented the guitar... twice. Which is impressive because you can't even really feel the rivet unless you press into the foam really hard.

those look brootal dude. i mean at least the headstock one is relatively easy to fix, but those body dents are... significant :\

Fuck. Sorry to hear it bro.

The 7 string I just bought is being shipped via Fedex as well,

if it's damaged I'll rip their fucking throats out.

Damn, whoever did that fucked up good.

Those look like direct contact hits, not the usual impact marks I've seen from shipping screw ups.
Almost like someone hit it sideways against a plug ot something rounded.
How did that happen through a box and a case with no damage to either?

I have seen those asshole throw shit around in their trucks. If you don't want to do the job right, quit. You need to email the CEO, Board of Directors and every VP in Customer Service. Here are their emails.

There used to be a fedex delivery guy that would throw packages out of the truck and into our driveway because he was afraid of our dog.

My dad actually ran over one of the packages fedex tossed when he was coming up the driveway after work one time.

When you email them make sure they can see that they are all CC'ed on the email. The line I have used in the past that has worked is "I would like to get this resolved without involving my State's Attorney General". And "I would appreciated it if someone could help me get this resolved.

I think the argument you can make is - something fragile like an egg packed flight case will break if thrown hard enough without causing damage to the case. The fact that the case wasn't damaged it moot. I would also show them how the damage aligns with the rivets on the case.

Also do not settle for a repair insist a replacement.
