Instead of dropping $600 on a Madison Divinity, which is still hurting my soul, it's time to replace all the little stuff in my rig. It's just time. Some of this stuff is 10 years old.
I've already ordered a full retube for my RM50, all 9 tubes. Plus, I'm getting my Swamp Thangs back. While I love the drivers that I traded from Devin, they are just more suited to vintage tones, and I have plans for those in the near future. :toast:
Now, I need to think about the other stuff. Speaker, guitar, and patch cables are a must. I'm out of the loop on the little stuff. I need to be pointed in the direction of the good shit, but still kind of wallet friendly. What's good to you guys?
The next upgrade I need is a slightly better interface. I'm using a Scarlet solo right now, but I want to go up a little to the 2i2, unless there is something I may be overlooking. It has 2 inputs to allow dual tracking simultaneously. I'd need a new mic for the other side as well. I only have one 57.
Any suggestions? I'd listen to you guys before I would any gear forum.
This stuff adds up quick when you ignore it for a while. I don't think I'll wait so long next time.
I hear Mexico is nice this time of year.
I'd go check at a gear forum.

I'd rather forcefully attempt to rape a 20' crocodile in it's nose. Pack mentality, and trendy assholes are not my thing. I'll pass.
There is a 20' Mogami cable with 2 extra plugs coming. They seem to be pretty tough and respected.

Hard to go wrong with bulk Mogami 2524. I do like GH plugs, like on my Lava cables. GLS foes the job though.
Can't help on the interface - I'm using a Zoom Thunderbolt interface.

If you need mics check out these CADs I have a couple of them and they sound just as good if not identical to my 57s

Damn! I quite literally scared the shit out of myself. Picked up a Boss FS-5L for the master volume boost in this old Randall, And was not prepared for what was about to happen. I had the volume on the amp pretty low and started chugging away a little. Then, I hit that damn switch... This is no master volume boost, Ok. It's a master volume bypass! The son of a bitch jumps to wide ass open! I was not expecting that, and didn't know the amp could get that loud. It startled me so bad, I almost fell out of my chair, and what I though was a loaf that was being held back, turned out to be a massive fart, and there was no stopping it. That was a close one.
Best way I can describe it.

Que up, David Bowie, Changes. They'll find a new home soon. It's Ok.
I just had to have my ST's back. Nothing else works quite the same for down tuned, Chug and D'jent. Damn things are new though. Stiff as a 14 year old in a titty bar. Had to pull the cardboard ring off the back for my washers, but they work just fine.
Bruce, you can move this over the gear room. I didn't mean to put it in here.

You're right about brand new swamp thangs, those motherfuckers start out stiff as hell. What I did was lay the cab face to the floor, set the master on the amp at 1/3, and plug my iPod into the FX return at 3/4 volume. I set Du Hast to play on loop for 4 hours while I was doing errands. It made a noticeable improvement.

I've been putting a pounding on these Swanp Thangs, for about 2 hours now. I have the bass maxed out on the amp, and running at about 3/4 volume. I still haven't noticed a real change yet. They are still stiff as hell and a little hollow sounding. Maybe GV's 200w monster could put a hurting on them, my 50W ain't doing much of nothing at the moment.
Edit:
I'm fucking retarded when I don't take my ADD meds. Can't pay attention to shit! I just happened to see it in the picture above somehow. Look very carefully of the pic with the ST's in. You'll see it.
