How much for a SLO? Think the going rate is 2.5K. Not sure what the Mesa 'copy' is going for - last I heard over 2K.

Wow! I'm going to have to look in to these. I still use a Randall RM50, with those type of modular preamps. If my preamp modules would work in those I would buy one in a heartbeat. I mean, it's the same thing as what I use. This could be awesome.

Edit: It looks as if they do, if you can believe the forums and internet. My old RM50 just gained a whole new life!

You'll have to look over my stupidity for a moment, but am I comprehending all that the way I think I am?

At first glance it looks like nothing more than that Roland thing or a Variax setup, but it's not is it? 

With the proper setup and understanding of this stuff, my little midi keyboard was just replaced by a guitar that I can actually play, right?

From what I gather, each individual string is it's own instrument. You could route the low E to one channel, A string to another, D to yet another, etc etc, until you run out pins/strings. In the process, each string could trigger its own amp sim, and everything else involved. It would be like splitting your drum software to multiple channels and have complete control over the tone of each individual drum, on its own channel. Am I close?

Then we get back to the midi applications. If I'm right, I could technically play drums with my guitar, right? Kick on the low E, Snare on the A, High hat on the D, and so on until I run out of strings, and pins to route them with?

I can't be that far off. That's what it seems like to me.
