i have to say, there were some strikes that were missed last night.

naturally a philadelphia team can't win something without great controversy..

Now that the word is out that apparently Selig decided several days ago that no series game would go less than 9 innings, it's even more of an argument that they really should have stopped last night's game much sooner.
There's no crying in baseball

I can't see that being true. Some of the Rays players were out there in the top of the 6th thinking that if they didn't score in that inning the series would be over. They even said as much in interviews. Why would the teams know that and not tell the players?

The Philly fans have been great during this run, but if Selig shows his face out anywhere, he is a dead man. The Santa snowaball story will finally die after 2 generations, but the "Philly fans killed Selig" will go on forever.

Maddon is saying he knew. So, maybe some sort of grand psychology to motivate his players.

Whatever the truth, both teams' management is backing Selig.
Will it blend? That is the question.

Not playing was absolutely the right thing to do, and no world series game, deciding or non-deciding, should be decided in less than 9 innings, but the timing of the stoppage is what is in question. Apparently everyone in the area except Selig knew the weather that was expected. The game should have A) not been started B) been stopped a few innings earlier than it was. It was too convenient to stop with the tie score and the weather being solely responsible for the tying run.

Management may have (willingly or unwillingly) sided with Selig, but the Phillies players and coaches were so pissed that every single one of them refused to do their press conferences afterward so there wouldn't be any disciplinary actions against them for what they would say about that slug.

It was only a matter of time ....ahhhh Philly.

During Game 3 of the World Series on Saturday night, Rays family members and employees say they were harassed and abused by Phillies fans at Citizens Bank Park to an unacceptable degree.

Children were cursed at, and one 9-year-old boy had beer poured on him. A Rays family member stayed locked in a bathroom stall because, he (pussy) said, Phillies fans were banging on the walls and threatening him.

Harrassing kids is just messed up. Nothing ever changes about Philly.
