Folks in Western Michiganââ¬â¢s Allegan County are thankful that no one was killed following a vicious tornado that swept through their area on Tuesday night.
The National Weather Service confirmed the twister touched down, causing damage to the Deboer Turkey Farm and trailers in the area.
Kyle Windemuller, co-owner of Windscapes Landscaping in Allegan County, said although his business was also damaged in the twister, heââ¬â¢s thankful no one was killed.
ââ¬ÅThe storm happened about 5:30, six oââ¬â¢clock, somewhere in between there, and thatââ¬â¢s typically when we are all getting back from the job site. Nobody was outside, so that is just a miracle. We just want to thank the Lord for that,ââ¬Â Windemuller said.
Not too far from Windemullerââ¬â¢s Landscaping business is DeBoerââ¬â¢s Turkey Farm, where two barns were toppled by the storm and demolished ââ¬â sending 40,000 turkeys running amok throughout the night. Incredibly, most of the turkeys survived. Family, friends, and members of the community came to the farm on Wednesday to help in the tiresome efforts of herding the turkeys to safer structures.
