The economy

God damn this is getting worst and worst every fuckin day.

Bankrupt Circuit City Stores Inc., the nation's second-biggest consumer electronics retailer, said Friday it failed to find a buyer and will liquidate its 567 U.S. stores. The closures could send another 30,000 people into the ranks of the unemployed.

"This is the only possible path for our company," James A. Marcum, acting chief executive, said in a statement. "We are extremely disappointed by this outcome."

The company had been seeking a buyer or a deal to refinance its debt, but the hobbled credit market and consumer worries proved insurmountable.

The liquidation of Circuit City is the latest fallout from the worst holiday shopping season in four decases. People have slashed their spending since the financial meltdown in September as they worry about their job security and declining retirement funds.

I was never impressed with Circuit City's selection. They always seemed to have about half the stuff that Best Buy did. Nowadays, I buy a lot from Amazon to save the sales tax.
Will it blend? That is the question.

Circuit City always seemed to be off to me. You'd go in the store and they were never really organized, at least the CDs/DVDs. You could go on Sunday when they first opened and they never had anything in stock from the ad. If you'd actually manage to find something it's impossible to find someone to tend a cash register.

I once went to buy a CD burner that was in the ad, big surprise, they were out of stock. I asked for a raincheck and they required I paid for half of it beforehand. Not to mention the prices online never matched the prices in the Sunday ads. I know they just recently changed that but it's too late. Last year they had some DVD set I wanted in the paper for just under $20. The price online for the same item was just under $40.

That wont work in this economy if businesses are not on their "A" game they will fail. Employees need to start understanding that and realizing if they have a good job in this economy cherish it and give your company 110% or move on.

It's actually not atypical of the attitude of these past few years of kids entering the work force. Each year is worse than the last... a "whatever gets me through till 5:00", or "whatever I have to do to get to the weekend" mentality.
