Taxes
#1
So what is the scoop around her how many of you guys are going to do your own taxes and how many are going to spend a couple of bucks like me and have them done? The say a person that defends themselves in court has a fool for a client, that is how I feel about people that do their own taxes.

For the $400 I spend every year I get piece of mind and the maximum return.

I used an electronic service and filed last Friday and got my refund today. I've always done my own taxes.

When I was single and renting banging out a W2 I did it myself but now I got my boy Lou. Our tax guy looked at the wife's taxes when we first got together and found about 10K in past mistakes that we got back, and those were mistakes by professionals. I am a big fan of a great tax guy. Plus you can take the tax prep fees off on your taxes so it is a no brainier.

2nd question is "Whatcha gonna do with all that money, whatcha gonna do with all that cash"

Pay for the repairs I had on my car last month and for my car insurance. Not that my refund will be enough to pay for it all.

Same here I dont see my refund becoming a stimulus check it will just go towards bills. Gone are the days when a tax refund ment a vacation or a wekend away.

I do still do my daughters taxes, but once again no property, no invetments just a straight up W2.

I do my own taxes. About ten years ago as I was sitting, watching my regular tax guy punch numbers into the computer I realized I was paying the douche quite a bit for something I could do. I save a couple of hundred dollars doing it myself.

With good tax software it's really easy.

'll probably do them myself again this year, but reconsider next year when I'll claim an additional child.

I usually have someone do them. Especially this year, since I bought a house in December. Wouldn't want to miss any deductions that I could claim.

It is easy with good software but with a good tax guy it is all about the interview. Like Gator said it is easy to miss deductions. My tax guy knows what questions to ask, two years ago I put in new doors and didn't realized the goverment had a $1,500 deduction for energy saving home improvements. Every year my guy finds something. Our last guy was good, this guy is great.

I guess the next question is how can you tell who is a good tax guy?
