We are getting another 8 inches today I just put a new spark plug in the snowblower and I am shooting 50 foot rooster tails. I was done with the driveway in 20 minutes vs. 2 hours last storm.

Sunny and 60's in the nation of Texas.
Will it blend? That is the question.

No snow here for a few days, just cold: it's 9 outside.

It is -5C here today (that's about 25F, Speng). A far cry from the severe minus temperatures that preceded Christmas. However, the forecast calls for -15 to -20 temps for the end of the week.
I really don't mind the colder weather as it means nice, dry snow. Yesterday we arrived home (after a nightmare 15-hour journey on bad roads with poor visibility and blowing snow) to find the driveway two feet deep in snow. Not the heavy, wet, soggy snow of the coast but fluffy, light, dry snow that is a pleasure to shovel, stays neatly where you put it, and doesn't melt into huge puddles and overflow the drains.
It took the kid and me an hour to clear the entire driveway. By contrast, an hour shovelling the heavy, wet snow on my parents' driveway down south cleared a patch about two foot by three foot.

Securb, I have been trying to talk the big guy into buying a snowblower. We have a lot of snow to move, and no sons at home to help us out. He says he doesn't want the fuss of maintaining another small engine.

He sounds like a lazy ass. It's no more maintenance then a lawnmower...probably less because there's no blade sharpening involved; change the oil and the sparkplug yearly and grease up whatever needs lube.

WTF, you're married to the love child of Sasquatch & Lurch and you have to shovel the driveway? What's he doing while you're laboring, his nails?

I think we've underestimated the guy. Looks like he's got everything under control.

Don't forget, the offspring of Lurch and the Sasquatch was the guy who drove for 15 hours through blowing snow, black ice, and huge semis throwing crap all over his windshield - while the kid and I watched movies on my laptop in the back of the minivan.
I figured he had earned a little couch time.

It is just one more mechanical thingy to look after.
- Lawn mower
- Boat motor
- Weed whacker
- Chain saw
- Mantis tiller
- Tenant's washing machine
- Tenant's lawn mower
- Table saw
- Carpet steamer
- Vacuum cleaner
He refuses to own a ride-on mower for the same reason, even though our yard is 1/3 acre of grass.
