For what you will spend having a little one dragged back and forth to the shop it's just on worth it. Take a look at the Ariens they have all different sizes but all of the machines are commercial quality solid metal, no plastic. Even their smaller machines are rock solid.
Another tip dont get it at Home Depot I have heard they make special runs for HD that are stripped down versions of their machines.
