Doctors in Mexico originally suspected a 17-year-old girl had contracted a sexually transmitted disease, until they learned she had injected Krokodil into her genitals.
The 17-year-old, who was not named, is the first case of Krokodil in Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco.
Doctors said they were shocked by the ââ¬Åsevere lacerationsââ¬Â on the patient's genitals.
Known as the ââ¬Ådrug that eats junkies,ââ¬Â the morphine derivative is cut with chemicals like household cleaners, paint thinner and even gasoline. Itââ¬â¢s known to rot flesh at the injection site, a condition otherwise known as gangrene.
"The young woman who used this drug had an infection that had rotted her genitals," José Sotero Ruiz Hernández of Mexico's National Institute of Migration told Mexican newspaper El Periodico Correo.
"It wasn't sexually transmitted,ââ¬Â he added. ââ¬ÅShe said she'd been using Krokodil for the last two month.ââ¬Â

I thought it was the ice cream treat with the waffle cone and chocolate, then I remembered that's a Chocodile.

...and I just got a mental image of a Chocodile stuffed in a vagina. Not that, that is a bad thing.

Wisconsin woman uses hot coals to warm van, starts fire
http://www.jrn.com/tmj4/news/Wis-woman-u...33311.html
LAC DU FLAMBEAU, Wis. (AP) -- Authorities on the Lac du Flambeau reservation say a woman was lucky to escape injury after she tried to use hot charcoal to heat up her vehicle in subzero temperatures.
Lac du Flambeau police Chief Robert Brandenburg tells The Associated Press temperatures were about minus 23 degrees and the woman's 2007 Dodge Caravan wasn't starting. So first she took out the battery, warmed it up inside and reinstalled it.
Then she shoved a mound of hot coals under the van hoping to warm up the engine chamber. He says the undercarriage of the front bumper caught fire, causing about $1,000 of damage.
Brandenburg says he's used the charcoal trick successfully, but he doesn't advise that others try it.

How much coverage is this getting outside this area? It's all I hear since the Philly networks cover most of Jersey too, but I would suspect it is a national story.
The Chris Christie Bridge Scandal Primer
This thing is going to be huge when everything is uncovered. People are already starting to sue the State and Christie both individually and in a class action.
The first guy subpoenaed yesterday plead the fifth, wouldn't even answer the question where he was employed.

It is national we are getting constant coverage on our local news and both the Daily Show and Colbert Report lead off with it last night. The class action lawsuit is pointless, anyone within a 100 mile radius will say they got stuck in that mess. The settlement will be a few bucks per person. The only winners will be the lawyers.

Yeah, the civil stuff is just for show, maybe the people that had delays in receiving emergency services will get something. There will be criminal charges coming, though... where again, the only winners are the lawyers.

It's getting some mention on the news here, they aren't going into too much detail though.

There's some moron who's come to my house four times since Friday night. I refuse to answer the door on principal, he knocks right next to the "No Solicitors" sign.
He's some goofy looking, clipboard carrying bastard who walks back down my driveway and goes on to the next house.
