Lemus grabbed a large butcher knife he hoped to use to pry open a window

A knife is one of the worst things you could use to pry open a window, it's too brittle. How do you pry open a car window anyway, it's not like a house window where there's a frame, it's just glass.

I guess he really was a moron, too bad he reproduced and spread the moron gene.
