What did you watch this weekend?
Speng Wrote:Being Flynn - Pretty good drama, somewhat predictable but there was some good acting. Deniro plays a good insane drunk

I actually loved that movie. Deniro nailed it.

I finished watching the Harry Potter movies over the weekend, been working on them for awhile. I thought they were going to be real kid oriented and overly cute, I was wrong. They were surprisingly good.

Watched Hobo with a Shotgun with Rutger Hauer. It was pretty good for a throwback grindhouse piece.

Just started watching Grimm: Season One (Blu-Ray), so far I'm digging it.

Took the wife out to see the new Die Hard movie. It is horrible. Its not Die Hard. Its not even a good movie. Stupid stupid stupid. I'm all for suspending my disbelief and everything, but that movie should have been relageted to a no-name franchise, with no stars, airing exclusively on telemundo at 4am. I want my money back! Stupid piece of crap movie.

Public Enemies - What a disappointing movie. I was expecting more action, it was more of a love story. Johnny Depp has been in a bunch of shitty movies lately.

The new Judge Dredd movie was interesting. Somewhat unnecessarily graphic and silly, but moderately exciting at least. The slo-mo scenes were pretty cool and probably cooler still in 3D. I didn't like Karl Urban as Dredd though, he had the scowl down, but his build didn't fit the suit... I liked it overall, but it could have been a better flick with just a change of the lead actor (possibly even back to Stallone believe it or not).

War Horse - Just ok, Spielberg seems to have lost his touch. Not a bad movie, but full of clichés and groan enducing scenes.

Jack the Giant Slayer. Overall pretty entertaining, a bit disjointed and silly at times, some glaring continuity errors, but easily watchable and mostly fun. A solid 3 star movie.

Van Helsing - A screaming pile of shit
