AFI defines the "gangster film" as a genre that centers on organized crime or maverick criminals in a twentieth century setting. If everyone is cool with that, we'll stick with that definition.
I don't know if there's really any rules, we can change that (and the thread title) as needed.

Hmm, good point. But, Joe Montanga was very good, and Andy Garcia is awesome in almost everything, as is Pacino.
