The classic song about Hollywood is Rocket Man by Elton John and Bernie Taupin. The song revolves around the duo leaving England and finding themselves in the recording studios of Los Angeles making music and doing drugs.
Ironically the album it is on Honky Château was recorded in France. Rocket Man - Elton John & Bernie Taupin She packed my bags last night pre-flight Zero hour nine a.m. And Iââ¬â¢m gonna be high as a kite by then (Drug reference) I miss the earth so much I miss my wife Itââ¬â¢s lonely out in space On such a timeless flight And I think itââ¬â¢s gonna be a long long time Till touch down brings me round again to find Iââ¬â¢m not the man they think I am at home (He is ashamed of the debauchery) Oh no no no Iââ¬â¢m a rocket man Rocket man burning out his fuse up here alone (another drug reference) Mars ainââ¬â¢t the kind of place to raise your kids (Mars is a reference to L.A.) In fact itââ¬â¢s cold as hell (The phony plastic people) And thereââ¬â¢s no one there to raise them if you did And all this science I donââ¬â¢t understand (recording equipment) Itââ¬â¢s just my job five days a week A rocket man, a rocket man And I think itââ¬â¢s gonna be a long long time... <SCRIPT type=text/javascript> document.write('

Hollywood by Junkyard; Fallen Angel by poison; Welcome to the jungle- by GNR; Danger- by Motley Crue; Hollywood Nights by Bob Seger. If were talking the Hollywood life we could start with The Memory Remains by Metallica

Wow, I don't even know what to say. Not liking Halen with Roth, or with Hagar, but just throwing out a blanket statement like that...Wow.

I will admit to liking Jump. but who doesn't? HOWEVER with all the front man drama I just got turned off. Roth is a showman (but can't sing for shit) and Hagar is a decent front man, so if I had to choose I'd pick Sammy for sure. I was but a boy when Hair bands were all the rage, I grew up on Bob Seger and Bruce Springsteen, my parent's favorites. I will never forget the first time I heard Peter Frampton - Frampton comes alive. |
