Since this has nothing to do with decomposing strippers or blowing goats, I hesitate to pose this question here, but I will anyways...
My 8-year old is asking for a laptop for Christmas. All he really does on the PC is play those online games such as ToonTown and the like. I want to get him one, but don't want to spend more than $200 on one since he is only 8 and the thing could end up being a projectile in a game of war with his friends. Does anyone know of any good sources to buy a cheap or refurb laptop? I see that Netbooks can be had for under that amount, but they don't have the graphic capability to handle to games he'd be playing.

You are in for at least $399 unless you go used.

I'd take a look at newegg.com, tigerdirect.com, and pacificgeek.com. I get emails from them a few times a week with sales and shit. I'll keep an eye out for anything that might interest you.

It looks like pacific geek has some good deals on refurbs, thanks. Have you ever bought from them before?

I am actually in the process of refurbing one myself. Our construction management division had a few old notebooks laying around so I took one.
The first time i turned it on it took like a half hour to fully boot up. Once I got all of the porn off by reformatting the hard drive and installed a new copy of windows, it was more than an acceptable option. It could use some additional memory for the games he'll be playing on it, so that is next. I'm going to buy some skins for it to hide some wear and tear, but it is in very good shape otherwise.
Thanks for the help.
