Salma Hayek moved to L.A. in 1991 to study acting. When her visa expired, Hayek continued to stay in the U.S. for a short period of time as an illegal immigrant.

Salma Hayek's rep confirms that this is true, but this was quickly cleared up, and Hayek is now a full-on American citizen
