So ever since I got the Egnater, I've been dissatisfied with the sound of my Marshall in a box into my Fender. It just sounds flat in comparison. So I decided that instead of chasing the elusive marshall tone from a pedal, I'd be better off with something different. So I ordered this.
If all goes well, I should be able to drop my klone and my MIAB from my box. Not really feeling the EP booster as much either, so I think my Timmy will take its rightful spot as my only other OD pedal.
I'm excited. I played a Bogner blue last week and while it sounded good, max gain was a bit disappointing. Plus, even with the boost level and gain all the way off, it was a huge gain and volume jump. Hopefully the Mesa will sound at least as good as the Bogner and get rid of the functional issues that I have with it. It should be here Thursday, I'll put up a full review asap.
Normally I'd be aghast at not having a marshall type pedal on my board - I've had something in that vein on my board for the last few years. But now that I have an amp that does the Marshall thing better than any Marshall I've played, I can just use that amp when I'm feeling that tone. Now I may lack a Marshall when I play my Fender, but I'm fine with that. I've always liked Boogie amps, and if this thing sounds at all like a Mark/Lonestar amp, I'll be very happy.
