Just got the pre-covered version on order. Luckily I have a pickguard already cut for the covered version to go on a Suhr Guitar.
I'll transplant this one into a Fender.

The uncovered one seems relatively bright on the scale of the HB's I've tried, but not overly so. Its weird, but I seem to like the effect of a cover on a HB. My PRS and Suhr T have a covered HB'er on them.
The split coil is bright and strong, which to me is good for a bridge split/middle combo.

Joy! I got the ship notification. It had to be ordered from Suhr, hence the wait. So it should be in my hot wittle hands Friday...
I pulled the Mark IV out of storage yesterday to make sure all was well. The uncovered SSH was instant gratification - fat, gainy and not needing a lot of futzing to get a good tone. EQ off, no fat boost, no boost/overdrive pedals - just the basic amp. A humble DD20 in the loop and it was good to go.

How did that get there?

I like the look...
I also put a Suhr BPSSC out of the stash on it.... Doesn't work in #2 because of the split (I think I know how to fix that). no biggie. 1st impression - a step in what I wanted. Of course #3-5 no change, except less noise. #2 is pulled back in volume a little and not as nasally. #1 Big and loud.
